Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
at Dragonfly Nest Nashville
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines the use of prescribed Ketamine with psychotherapy to amplify healing and facilitate deeper therapeutic progress. Our gentle and intensive approach helps clients address past trauma and reconnect with themselves and the world around them. At Dragonfly Nest, we prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment, guiding clients throughout the experience to help make sense of their journey. Psychedelic assisted therapist, Lindsey Weiner, LMSW, has brought this service to the Dragonfly Nest. Your providers are there every step of the way. The process often leaves individuals feeling inspired, more connected to themselves, and with a renewed sense of clarity that extends beyond the session.
This type of Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy blends the power of psychedelic medicine with the depth of psychotherapy to open doorways into the unconscious, catalyze healing, and facilitate profound shifts in consciousness. At Dragonfly Nest, we offer a sacred, structured space for exploring inner landscapes, healing trauma, and remembering the wholeness that has always lived within you. In this space of remembering, we can return to the space of experiencing aliveness and giving and receiving love more freely.
Psychedelic Therapy can help you move beyond linear talk therapy into non-ordinary states of consciousness—states where deeper truths, buried wounds, and innate wisdom often reveal themselves with surprising clarity and grace.
What is Ketamine?
Ketamine, first developed in 1956, is a dissociative anesthetic with over five decades of safe use in medical environments for both adults and children. It works by influencing the brain’s NMDA and AMPA receptors, promoting the formation of new neural pathways. This process helps regulate mood and stress, leading to increased production of neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin, which can positively affect mood.
How Does KAP Help?
Many clients find the experience transformative, walking away with greater self-awareness, a sense of peace, and a deeper connection to their inner wisdom. KAP helps by:
- temporarily lowering the barriers that protect us
- removing the grip of the DFN (Default Mode Network)
- allowing us to explore difficult emotions, memories, and fears with compassion
- promoting new, life affirming pathways of neuroplasticity
- helping us break free from unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior
- fostering new ways of relating to yourself and others
Many report that relief from symptoms can often be felt within hours of the session.
The KAP Process
We have an intensive process that embodies intention, safety, support, and transformation. Unlike many ketamine clinics, we do things differently. We offer an intensive process designed to support your experience across all stages:
Consultation and Intake
Preparation Sessions and Psychiatric Evaluation
Following your intake session, we will connect you with our holistic psychiatric provider who specializes in ketamine therapy. They will review your medical and psychological history to determine if Ketamine is right for you, and prescribe ketamine if appropriate. Following receiving clearance from your evaluation, we will conduct a recommended 4-8 preparatory sessions to build a safe, trusting relationship and set intentions for the KAP work, ensuring a strong foundation for deeper exploration during treatment.
Dosing Session
The number of Ketamine sessions you’ll need varies, typically ranging from 4-8 sessions. Each session is 2.5 hours, allowing time for preparation, the Ketamine experience (~1 hour), and processing afterward. You’ll relax in our comfortable zero gravity chair, wearing an eye mask, and listen to calming, Ketamine-specific music. Though the experience is mostly internal, your therapist be with you throughout the session to ensure safety and provide support as needed. You must have a ride home after your session.
Integration Sessions
Other Services
Psycholytic Sesssions
Psycholytic sessions are specialized trauma processing sessions where ketamine is utilized as a catalyst for unlocking deeper and more impactful therapy sessions. Psycholytic sessions may also be structured in intensive formats, and will offer preparation and integration support. Those receiving psycholytic therapy feel the effects of the medicine and will also retain dialogue and full processing with their therapist. This style of psychedelic-enhanced therapy was popularized by psychiatrist and psychedelic researcher Stanislav Grof, who found great success with it in treating a range of psychological issues.
Group KAP
Group KAP offers a more accessible option for those seeking community support. In these groups of 3-6 individuals, participants engage in a three-month process that includes preparatory, dosing, and integration sessions, all designed to foster healing and connection. This format combines the benefits of group therapy with the transformative power of KAP, creating a supportive environment for growth and healing. Please contact us to learn more about Group offerings.

We work with couples who are open to exploring new, healthier ways of loving and being loved. We help with improving communication, feeling heard, and navigating conflict with compassion. Our services are also welcoming to those in polyamorous, non-monogamous, or alternative relationship structures (or those curious about them). We support individuals and couples with:
